North Idaho is a well kept secret for Mule deer.  Tags are over the counter.  Mid to late November is best, we usually get plenty of snow, which makes the deer migrate out of our back country.  This hunt is not for the faint of heart.  They live high and in steep country, but their heavy dark antlers make it all worthwhile!  We also have an early back country limited draw for deer, which offers an excellent opportunity for a truly great trophy.
